We complied a list of New Orleans best Mardi Gras t-shirts for this year & the results are in!
By far, the best selling Mardi Gras t-shirt for 2020 was our Mardi Gras Krewes t-shirt. This 50/50 poly cotton blended tee is super soft & features some of our favorite Mardi Gras Krewes! You can't have a Mardi Gras Krewes t-shirt without the Krewe of Rex; King of Carnival & Zulu, who's signature throws are coconuts. Both Rex & Zulu parades roll on Mardi Gras morning. Iris, Nyx & Muses are world famous, all female New Orleans Krewes with signature throws that include purses & shoes, high heels in fact. And don't forget about the best light show on wheels! Endymion takes a little different route than the other uptown parades. It hits Mid-City with it's incredible floats & one of our dear friends, David NOLA, is a member of the Endymion Krewe.
The Mardi Gras geaux cup shirt was one of our first Mardi Gras t-shirts. Released in February 2017, it's still a top selling t-shirt. The shirt represents all things Mardi Gras & in fact, all things New Orleans. We are so lucky here in New Orleans to be able to take our drinks "to go". That's right, anywhere you go, you can take your drink to go. You can walk around the city of New Orleans freely with a cocktail in your hand. And that's just one of the reasons why New Orleans in the best city in the world!
Our Mardi Gras fleur de lis t-shirt was another one of our best selling Mardi Gras shirts of 2020. It actually came about by just playing around on the computer. As you may know...or not, my husband John and I design all of the shirts. It was a slow day at the shop, so I just spent a little time working on a new t-shirt design. I thought, what if we designed a t-shirt that from far away looked like a fleur de lis, but if you got up close, you could see all the detail in the shirt that lists out all of the Mardi Gras Krewes throughout the city. I started designing the shirt & we really like how it all came together. The Mardi Gras fleur de lis shirt was our February 2020 Shirt of the Month. It was also a top seller online & in both of our retail stores (3646 Magazine Street & 2855 Magazine Street). We had a hard time keeping this one in stock. We are sure that this will become a Mardi Gras top selling shirt in years to come!
Mardi Gras 2020 was a year we will never forget. Two horrific tragedies on the parade routes this year, which I think, will forever change Mardi Gras. The unspeakable tragedies just remind us how short life can be, hug your loved ones a little tighter, & try to live life to the fullest. To me, Mardi Gras is about fun, laughter, love & community. It's a marathon of excitement that represents so much of what New Orleans is all about. It's a free show & it's opened to the world & we are so lucky to call New Orleans our home.
